From DogstarFans egroup:
We, dogstarfans-owners, received an email today from one of the band members, directing us to a website for a new band that includes Rob and Keanu. Before I say anything else, we were assured, by this same band member, that Dogstar is NOT splitting up. This is just a new project that is in addition to Dogstar.
The band is called Becky, and the website URL is...
Be sure and click on the audio icon at the bottom of the page so you can hear one of the band's songs.
The band is playing tomorrow night at The Roxy on Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood. If anyone from this group is able to attend the show, please let us know how the show goes! ;~)
Wow.
Yes, I'm already trying to figure out if I could/should make this trip or not.
I'm listening to the track - "Oblivious" - right now and it's not bad...
*UPDATE 3/29, noonish: There are now eight tracks on the BECKY website to listen to, so go check them out.

and more questions...
Who is the fourth member?
Bill "Durnan" and Terry "Sawchuck" are All-Star Goalies of the early 50's.
WTH!!!???? Geez, I really wish we would get more than a ONE day notice!!! Sorry, don't mind me! Thanks for the info. Krix! :)
Posted by: Natasha on March 28, 2003 08:54 PMThe guitarist's name does make it a bit of a mystery, does it not?
Oh, and "zxcvbnm" is the bottom row on the keyboard.
Also a little weird.
Posted by: krix on March 28, 2003 10:31 PMThis has nothing to do with this topic - but I want to tell you I saw "Dreamcatcher" today and it sucked - but I loved the Animatrix prior to the movie. yay!
Dreamcatcher review:
http://figgycrapmovies.blogspot.com/
The whole website of the band was a bit odd..when you clicked on the names of the band members, it lead to a google.com search--it's wierd that the info wasn't on the site itself....(do I dare ask, was it some wierd hoax, wither the band, the website, or both?)
Posted by: stacey717 on March 29, 2003 09:02 AMWell, at least we know who the girl in the park playing football is now. I'm glad Keanu has found a way to continue playing - he seems to be so happy up there. As for their little joke about he guitarist, maybe it's someone we know and they wanted to add a little mystery to the evening.
Jimmy Page? Eric Clapton? Slash? Just thinking of guitarists who would be available right now. Kidding, of course. ;)
I can't believe Ke and Rob are playing -- just ooooohhh's and wowwwwww's when I saw your good news. And at the Roxy, too. Cool spot! [Then all I could think about is the irony that is allergy season (makes you feel like shredded wheat). So, I'm hoping really hard that tonight is such a success that Becky will be asked to schedule some shows. 'Cuz I truly would like to experience the group and their sound -- and yes, see Ke and Rob. *smiles* and a *sigh* for now.

I don't know what's being discussed elsewhere but for the record: I met Rebecca at Bret's show last June. She was introduced to me by Rob as HIS girlfriend.
Any comments speculating otherwise or delving into anything beyond the fact that she's the singer for this new project will be deleted.
Take it somewhere else.
I have prior commitments today, so I'm not going be be able to trip to Hollywood. I wish I could to check out this band and to support them.
Maybe next time we'll get a little more notice.
It is good to know that Keanu is making music again. I'm liking the bass work on 'Oblivious', especially toward the end of the song.
Posted by: krix on March 29, 2003 09:35 AMKrix, go ahead and delete my post about her being the girl in the park - I didn't mean to imply that she was Keanu's girlfriend - just that she was the girl in the park. I personally didn't think they looked liked they were "together" - just friends in the park having fun, which is always good.
Posted by: Chianti on March 29, 2003 09:56 AMI know you didn't, Chianti. No problem.
Posted by: krix on March 29, 2003 10:03 AMWhoa - thanks for the link. *g*
