Already working on the part, Reeves hasn't even earned the accolades producers are expecting for his upcoming "Matrix Reloaded" and "Matrix Revolutions" films coming out within half a year of each other this summer and fall. Producer Lauren Shuler Donner says he's the perfect actor for the adult-oriented comic book series about the man who sends demons to Hell."He's hot in the role, he's perfect for Hellblazer because he has that innocent quality about him, a bit naive, but someone you like," Donner says to Zap2it.com. "He's a bit like Tarzan, or a hero like that. But this time, he sends demons to hell."
I think Ke would be perfectly fantastic(one of my overused- but totally true in this case-words) for this part. His "innocent/naive yet ready to take action and kick major butt" attitude would go over bigtime. As soon as I heard/read that Keanu was considering the role, I got excited. (Sometimes it's truly fun to play the 'devil's Advocate'. If anybody would know that, it's Ke.) With the hope this is a serious consideration, I even purchased max shares of "Constantine" on Hollywood Stock Exchange (virtuaL game). Bottom/bassline: I can so see this happening -- !

Posted by: Lori on April 17, 2003 05:17 AMAfter seeing a fair number of his movies, I'm convinced that Keanu can perform quite admirably in any role he chooses. He initially because they were his, but then out of the sheer overall entertainment value they provide(?).... As I rave over his ability to provide the adrenaline-rush experience that the comic book afficionados will no doubt look for, I will admit against my very fiber (giggles) that Keanu's cute/handsomeness and charismatic appeal didn't hurt the cause either. Still haven't checked out a comic episode. (Too blown away by Reloaded -- for now. But over the summer, I'll appease my always curious nature.)
*P.S. = My slightly rebellious side would really like to see Ke do this role to the hilt...and prove those diehard Hellraiser fans wrong in their unjustied overly-biased opinions. More than 'nuf said (for awhile, probably)

While I enjoyed the article (thanx Krix!), the sentence that stuck out the most to me (and yes I am a *bit* warped) is, "Keanu is formidable, he can take on the demons." Don't know why I love that, I just do? :)
