I'm definitely leaving early from work today.
I've updated the sidebar with a stupid radioactive tic-tac looking thing. Click that to listen to the voicemonkey mailbox where I'll be leaving messages tonight. It only posts the most recent message, but don't worry, if there's any real good ones I'll post direct links in an entry tomorrow once I sort them out.
I hope I can manage something interesting to say besides "ohmygod!I'm here" and "ohmygodthelineissolong" or "wheeeeee! I'm drunk!" . I expect the whole experiment to be pretty lame, though. So don't stay home for it or anything.
I'll be meeting Jo between 8 and 8:30 at the hotel bar. I'm not too worried about getting good seats, with stadium seating these days, as long as you aren't in the nausea-inducing first row, pretty much every seat is good.
I hope there aren't any jackasses in the theater (besides me, of course)...I hope I remember to turn the ringer off of the phone.
I'm almost sick with excitement. I'd better go get some tums.
UPDATE:
Because I can never get his comments to work, there's a special voicemonkey message for Tony Pierce, who fucking rocks.
i didn't think to drink beforehand..brilliant! have a blast! i hope we all get the good seats we so deserve for being so nuts over this.
Posted by: laura on May 14, 2003 01:54 PMHave fun sweety!!! Remember to breath!!!
I hate not having sound, because I have to wait ehm.. count, count... 46 more hours!! Boohoo! I would have loved to hear you 'reporting live' as if you were some CNN journalist! :-)
The 'jerks' are my main concern as well, I fear the whole thing will be ruined by having some screaming zit-kiddies next to us... Or maybe I'll ruin it for them with my squeals of delight :-)
I've already taken some measures in case I miss anything though, I'm going again on my b-day *as a present to myself* :-D
Oh believe me, you won't be missing any brilliant reporting. Think of it more as lame messages on an answering machine when the caller isn't sure if they got the number right.
I'm going again in the morning, and might end up going with another friend this weekend.
Wahey! It's a Matrix-a-thon for you! :-)
I'm sure that even if the messages are lame (which I can't imagine) the 'shiver' in your voice will make up for it! ;-) BTW, are you going to blog about it as soon as you return? (if you're not too drunk, hehe) Because if you do -and I cant blame you!!! *I'm sooo jealous*, in fear of even more spoilers (and I had my share) I must bid you farewell for the next... count, count... 45 hours! *Adieu* :-D
Any spoilerish blogging will be done in the extended "yes, way" entry that you have to click to open.
It's unlikely I will post anything (of substance) tonight. I will probably gush a lot tomorrow after the second showing.

Heads up girl:
May 14th, 2003-------------------------
In the United States, tomorrow is the day of reckoning. After 4 long years, the first sequel to THE MATRIX, THE MATRIX: RELOADED hits theaters. The film then sees release across the world over the next three weeks (last stop Japan, June 7th).
After the film, it might be good to sniff around the official site. Tomorrow brings some new content to these parts. Dig deeper. Always deeper.
TheMatrix.com
Lifted from the official site.
ummmmm, wonder what it means?
So are you still NOT GOING Tyler?
Thanks for the heads up. I bet we will be full of questions and maybe the OS will lead us to the door so we can answer them.
By the way, I have no idea why I left work so early. Now all I can do is pace and keep checking my watch.
Plus there's cake here. No good will come of it.
Posted by: krix on May 14, 2003 04:18 PMKrix!!!! Bret is in the Matrix Reloaded!!! Jem has an update at the dogstar board. Wait... here it is...
I forgot to mention-Bret is in the Matrix and you can see him briefly in the scene with Morpheus and the thousand extras. Morpheus gives a long speach and right when he is done he points to his left and some tribal drummers come on. Bret is the first one you see (don't blink-it's really fast). He is wearing a red bandana and is standing closest to Morpheus. While the talking is going on, if you keep an eye on the upper right of the movie screen you can actually see the drummers standing on a cliff, but they are really too far to make out the individuals. However, they do include guitarist Stevie Salas (Played with Rod Stuart, Rolling Stones-and other big names), Bernard (I forget lastt name-he is a back up singer for the Rolling Stones), and Orion (I forget his last name too-he plays with Third Eye Blind). Hope you see them.
Cheers,
Jem
Soooo look out for your *other* man! :) Have fun!!!!

Posted by: tony on May 14, 2003 05:12 PMI'm going to plead the Fifth on that on right now Krix. Only because I haven't decided -- still pretty annoyed at the handling of the whole thing.
Tell you what though if I do go and see it there is a bottle of fiery hot gold stuff on its way to you. Feel free to disregard the critter that comes with it.
You cannot open it though until we can crack it open while standing in line for Revolutions. Should come in handy on a cold November night in the desert.
Posted by: Tyler on May 14, 2003 05:31 PMOh - it's on, Tyler.
Augh! You know I wish I had a date tonight, it would have justified the shaving of legs.
Oh, and Thanks Natasha, I'll keep my eyes peeled.
Posted by: krix on May 14, 2003 06:15 PM:) Well, it's about that Matrix Reloaded time! I'm just imaging all the people across the country who are being Matrixized tonight and for the coming weeks (months?) I hope you're having a GREAT time Krix!
