This just in, apparently Keanu's filthy fucking rich.
Actually, isn't this the percentage he gave up to the effects and costume teams?
Not that I have interest in his money.
I'm all about the belly scar, the rock and roll, and the ass baby....
media spot | from inside the mind of krix at June 02, 2003 07:38 PM .I think the general misconception is that he gave it all away. He didn't. What he did do, "was take PART of what I got in my contract and create a pool....."
I think that the more interesting thing about this publicity will be to see how it plays out in Hollywood.
Don't just love the fact that is making all this money and buys what, according to Hollywood standards, is a modest house! (Which looks like it needs a paint job.)
Ass, Rock and Roll, and belly scar just about covers it. But I am in it for Neo. How cool can one person be?
Posted by: Tyler on June 2, 2003 08:33 PMWell, he deserves every penny.
Posted by: krix on June 2, 2003 08:45 PMAgreed.
Posted by: Tyler on June 2, 2003 08:57 PMHoly shit that's a lot of moolah!
Posted by: :: jozjozjoz :: on June 3, 2003 12:02 AMIt is very cool that he gave away part of it - what we don't hear about is all the other times he gave a LOT (many millions) of it to cancer research. Just as we ALL are supposed to do, to give is supposed to be a selfless act, without publicity or acclaim. Of course when the press gets wind of it, it becomes known. He was upset that this was widely published. I guess most press just don't understand unconditional generosity. He obviously realizes there no way in the world he could spend all that money, so he does good deeds with it. Did I mention I love this man?
PS: I don't think the house is supposed to be painted - it's made of white concrete and stone, and is quite modest, considering. I'd love to wake up and see the view over that infinity pool. Or the views *inside* the house too. ;)
Posted by: Chianti on June 3, 2003 06:08 AMGood for him! He deserves what he got now, and he did not act cocky at all. And he desn't act like all big super-starry and everything. The man's humbleness blew me away. He doesn't have to give, yet, he just did.
Man! I feel like giving him the customary hug. *squeeze*
Posted by: Anduril on June 3, 2003 06:37 AMWell, obviously he needs all this money to buy fish-food for the koi-fish in his pond! They are terribly hungry fish, you know... they scare me a bit! Do you know the breed? They are quite large and have huge gaping mouths... What if they take a nibble of him!
Oh well, I'd still like him, even if he missed a few fingers ;-D
*knocking on wood*
Posted by: Julie on June 3, 2003 08:23 AMshit thats allot of money but he's worth every penny of it. is there a picture of the house he bought online somewhere? i'm curious to see his modest digs...
Posted by: kat on June 3, 2003 10:17 AMkat, I think Keanuette's blog has one! :-)
Posted by: Julie on June 3, 2003 11:05 AMThanks! I went and looked. That's not too shabby. Christ, I can imagine what they'd call my house if they say that is modest...lol
Posted by: kat on June 3, 2003 12:00 PMAfter all the sacrifices, the pain, the continual dedication to the Matrix project throughout everything, and maintain that wonderful wit and charm, and still have some smiles yet! (between icebaths!, etc.)... Plus giving away a nice chunk of his earnings before-the-fact. Truly amazing and admirable. Ke deserves every cent and more. Coolness! and then some!
Posted by: phoenix IX on June 3, 2003 10:22 PMThe Mirror newspaper has a better [fuller] pic of the house, but I can't scan it coz my scanner is shite!
