I think when I go home tonight I'm going to watch Permanent Record, which will inevitably lead to me doodling our names in hearts on my notebook.
Chris is a composite of every boy I loved in high school.
Sigh. I love Keanu's performance in this movie.
I'd like to thank Backlot commenters Rob and Charles for posting these lyrics from the film. I know a lot of people asked for them.
"Wishing on Another Lucky Star"
- J.D. SoutherYour friends may lie
The truth can come from strangers
If I knew why
We wouldn't be in this danger
Leaning out the window of my car
And wishing on another lucky starLife is long
It is not made to measure
You will go on
The same in pain and pleasure
Wondering how we ever got this far
By wishing on another lucky starLife goes on
As sure as the sky
It's come and gone
In the wink of an eye
You leave your home
On the wings of a lie:
"You will never die"The world is cold
A heart gets torn and tattered
The one you hold
It can be dropped and shattered
Leaning out the window of my car
And wishing on another lucky starLife goes on
As sure as the sky
It's come and gone
In the wink of an eye
You leave your home
On the wings of a lie:
"You will never die"
There's a car outside . . .
On a somewhat unrelated note...
I had such a good Keanu dream last night, I woke myself up smiling.
Cool. The only thing better is for Keanu to wake you up, smiling.
Posted by: Chianti on July 12, 2003 11:08 AMThat song always makes me sad...
It's a good film. I haven't watched it in ages.
In fact - haven't had a Keanumoviemarathon in a while...
Question - have you got DVD-Rom? If ya do it's cool for having simultaneous online viewings of Keanumovies whilst on chat. We used to do it with The Matrix.
We should all get together sometime...
Posted by: Keanuette on July 12, 2003 12:17 PMI just watched Permanent Record again the other night and I concur krix. Chris is exactly the sort of boy I would have fallen in love with in high school (if there had been any boys so sweet).
I'm glad you had yourself a nice Keanu dream. Every girl should be so lucky.
Posted by: Muldoon on July 12, 2003 05:26 PMKCR fans must be cosmically linked. I give the following is evidence:
Friday morning at 7:15am, I found in the Movie Bargin Bin at my local Wal-Mart for only $3.88, the movie "Permanent Record". I had never seen the movie and had never seen it for sale anywhere. I can't even rent it at my local Block Buster. I brought it tonight to watch at work (I work nights from 10p to 6a as an answering service operator - I go to the local university by day). The 1st thing I usually do when I get to work is check my fav sites on line starting with Keanuvision. Its crazy. It's like you knew I would need the lyrics of that song and that I would "NEED" them tonight. We are all connected.
I just finished watching the movie and am still all teary eyed. God, but he is beautiful! I love this movie.
I also found "Last time I commited suicide" and "Brotherhood of Justice". I cant wait to watch them.
Thanks again for the timely posting.
Posted by: Wanda on July 13, 2003 12:37 AMWell, I envy you, krix! You are able to see dreams, and beautifull ones, of the person you love... I have seen only one really an enjoyable dream about Keanu, and it was nothing very dramatic. He was visiting here in my country, and in one part he watched me through autumn leave trees, sadly, kindly and for long. The forest, though, in the dream was something more than life, penetrating into my soul (does it sound too serious here?). And that was all, the rest are the ones in which I´m watching his movies or tv-appearances!!
I´m positive it would be fun to read more of your dreams of Ke. Please let your poetic vain flourish when telling them.
Posted by: Virpi Helminen on July 14, 2003 09:01 AMoh yeah - Chris is the boy i loved in high school but never even admitted it to myself until i had already married somebody else (you know the story, krix)...
Posted by: lori on July 15, 2003 04:06 PMI had never seen this movie before, but I am so glad that I did. I have seen it 4 times in 2 days. Keanu's performance is absolutely wonderful. I had not cried with a movie like that in a long time. I wanted to reach out, hug him, and NEVER let go.
Posted by: Laura on July 17, 2003 12:47 AMHey guys, im a 16/m/oh i dont drool Keanu Reeves or anything. Im staight. but my friend killed himself 2 years ago and so i decided to write a song about him and then i saw this movie and it reminded me so much of him. I could do nothin but feel the pain that they felt in the movie. I love that song though. I read the lyrics and there is nothing but truth and heart behind it.
