This was basically an in-industry award recognising his work on the whole Matrix trilogy, right? I read he got a standing ovation. It must have been overwhelming for him to be in front of a crowd with so much understanding and appreciation for what he put into Neo and the Trilogy, especially after his credibility as an actor has been so publicly (and maliciously at times) debated. But I also thinks this speaks to the respect and reputation he has amongst co-workers, and possibly crew in particular, as a dream to work with.

I've loved him for the grace with which he simply continues to move forward, but when I see this reaction I know that it has indeed hurt him to some extent. And that makes me heartsick. I wish I could turn into some sort of spiritual balm and just coat him.
But then, all my fantasies are some variant of that. ;^)
