VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): One of your most wonderful qualities is your aptitude for helping people. It's also the part of your nature that is most likely to be abused by charming narcissists and charismatic manipulators. But in 2004, you will have a knack for freeing yourself from these oppressors. You'll be able to spot potential new ones from a mile away, and you'll know how to break the hold that the old ones have on you. Take this pledge now: "I will serve only the smart, effective people who also serve me."
-My Hawaiian name is Kilikina, I'm going to guess that Keanu's is...um, Keanu....
What's yours?
(thanks r.j.girl)
-Also, thanks to Nadia, who found a couple nice pics of Keanu at Hollywood.com's Year in Pictures feature (you have to click around a bit), and to Michelle who sent the link to Dogstar's page at the William Morris site, that has a HUGE promo photo from the early days with Keanu looking about 14, Bret looking like a boy to fall in love with, and Rob looking like he's in a police lineup.
it wahs | from inside the mind of krix at January 02, 2004 11:05 AM .When I saw the YIR at the H'wood site yesterday, I couldn't help but LOL, tho they must have missed several Pics of a smiling KR (SGG prem, both Matrix prems) and the costume caption was hilarious, too. Thx for the cute XL dogz pic, it's always been on of my faves, in a much smaller version
Posted by: Niobe on January 2, 2004 12:57 PMMy hawaiian name is Lika, not much different than the english version ya think?? That was a cute dogstar pic. LOL at Rob in the police lineup and Keanu looking 14. Though both statements are true!
I feel for you with the sore wrist. I think I'm developing an elbow problem or maybe I already had an elbow problem that is getting worse due to excessive mouse use!! Either way it's not getting any better:(
I just had to try this out.
My Hawaiian name is Winiki.
Isn't that cute?
However, I had to mispell my name to get the program to recognize it. (Wendy)
Thanks for a great 2003, Krix. I have Keanuvision.com as my home page, and I'm always glad because I love reading the entries.

Posted by: Wendi on January 2, 2004 02:06 PMAloha!
My Hawaiian name is Lonaka (although, I do find it a little strange that an "R" name translates into one beginning with an L). :)
Posted by: r.j.girl on January 2, 2004 02:22 PMWell, Lisa and I have basically the same problem. My Hawaiian name: Melika. Easy to remember, though!
Posted by: Melissa on January 2, 2004 02:31 PMHA! They don't have my name in their database!!!
The closest one was Lusenikia - wich is so funny! My name is not English, that figures. Thanks for the link though - cracks me up. :)
Posted by: lusenka on January 2, 2004 02:49 PMIt gave me two names: Manaolana and Nakia. I think I am going to use Manaolana from now on. But first I have to learn how to pronounce it and then bless myself with it! :) This was a fun exercise.
Funny pics, krix. I actually like that 'rabbit frozen in the headlights' look that he has sometimes when he's photographed on the red carpet. You can tell by the slightly set jaws and the stare that he's just trying not to blink and wants to get it over with quickly. Hey, he's only human after all. But what a beautiful bunny he makes...
Oh, and I'm Makelina. Had to smuggle a bit and drop an 'e', but got my name eventually. Nice, and easy on the ears and tongue. When I say it a couple of times it sounds almost like a mantra.
Posted by: Maddi on January 2, 2004 02:59 PMPekani here. I'm not surprised, English is practically the only language in the world that has the /th/ sound.
Posted by: Bethanie on January 2, 2004 03:13 PMIs Rob really that much taller than Keanu? Or is it just that Keanu looks like he needs to ask his mom if he can stay out past his curfew??
Posted by: Melissa on January 2, 2004 05:05 PMYeah, Rob's a tree.
Posted by: krix on January 2, 2004 05:08 PM*crawls in*
Thank god, I made it.
Ha! I've boldly went against doctor's orders (still need to 'rest' for a few days), took an extra pain-killer (Wee-hee!!!!), and have crossed the distance between my house and workplace *with internet connection*, just so that I could wish each and every Keanu-fan on the planet a merry belated Christmas, and a blissfully happy & healthy & GREAT new year while it still made some sense to do so!!!
May 2004 be filled with warm & fuzzy family-moments, laughs with your friends, unexpected pleasures, romantic trips, promotions, high exam-scores, the winning of lotteries, the winning of Olympic medals, the winning of Ebay-auctions, the winning of Nobel- and Pullitzer prices, the discovery of gourmet-restaurants that serve meals that WON'T make you fat, the discovery that you are secretly of royal anchestry, and thus becoming a princess overnight, the discovery that the hideous painting in your attic is actually an original 'Van Gogh', PLUS much 'performing of brave and heroic deeds' that will get you mentioned on CNN, invites to movie-premieres by Keanu *himself*, "Free drinks for all" parties, and of course the opportunity to replace Rebecca in Becky!, because the band feels that 'you have a better singing voice' then her!
-No, I'm not looking at *you* now, Krix ;-)
But, most of all, I wish that 2004 will be the year in which we will ALL be hand-picked by NASA, to be 'human representatives' in charge of 'establishing friendly contact' with the inhabitants of a soon to be discovered planet, where all life-forms resemble Neo!!!! :-)
BTW; Have I mentioned yet that medicated hallucinations RAWK??? ;-D
Anyway, I'm off now to do a quick 'catch-up read' & send some emails, before I retreat to my quarters to pout a bit more. :-)
Thank you all for worrying about me! You don't have to anymore, I'm kind of OK now. :-)
Ha! Those pesky little kidneys won't get me down! I've been through worse, darnit!
-Like certain blind dates, for instance ;-D
*Smmoooooocccccchhhh*
I was surprised that the WMA site had taken everything down but kept the picture. So cute! I tried to see what the rider was, but they wanted a password...now that would have been interesting.
I have an unusual first name, but I realized I could change it to something that was similar but normal, and got a really nice Hawaiian name--Ailika. I like it so much I might use it as an online name. Since they didn't tell me what it meant, I can make something up, like warm wind from the sea...
Posted by: bakednudel on January 2, 2004 05:51 PMJulie! soooo glad you're on the mend. Take care and be good..love ya bunches, and see you on that flight to Planet Neo!!! oh yeah, baby...
Posted by: Ailika on January 2, 2004 05:55 PMYesssssssss! Julie!'s alive! Welcome back kiddo. Love you much. :-D
My Hawaiian name is Ana. Don't feel bad Lusenka, I tried putting "Keanu" in the Hawaiian name space to see what it means in English and it's not in their database either. Kind of makes you wonder about that database doesn't it?
Posted by: Zen on January 2, 2004 05:59 PMHmm.. My Hawaiian name is apparently Kakei, which isn't too bad...and the reason they may not have an "english" meaning for keanu is because if you type it in hawaiian for english there is not english name translation--it is a purely hawaiian name...isn't it?
Posted by: stacey717 on January 2, 2004 06:09 PMHmmmm. You may have something there stacey717. ;)
Posted by: Zen on January 2, 2004 06:16 PMJulie?

I'm so glad to hear you are finally getting better, I missed you!!!!!!!!
Wheeee! Julie!
Posted by: krix on January 2, 2004 06:35 PMJust call me Kanike.. Thanks R.J. that was fun. :) Congratulations on your new bass Krix.. Rock on!!
Hugs and God bless
funny, lori could be either lolina or loli...think i'll take loli -- it's closer, shorter, and easier to remember. and "loli and keanu" has such a nice ring to it...
Posted by: lori on January 2, 2004 08:02 PMIn case the link is gone by the time you come back Julie!, your Hawaiian name is Kuli. I also checked that other name you used to go by *wink*. I'll email that one to you. :D
Posted by: Zen on January 2, 2004 09:19 PMJulie!!!!!!! You and your lovely sense of humor were missed. I hope you are feeling much better and continue to improve daily.
As for your New Year wishes...couldn't have wished for more or said it any better. May we *all* be so blessed in the coming year.
Welcome back, sweetie!
Posted by: r.j.girl on January 2, 2004 09:32 PMOh, ya know, I actually found this link while searching for the definition of 'mehala or mahala or ma hala' (not sure of the spelling, therein lies the problem)...you know--the pinky/thumb hand gesture, but to no avail. Does anyone out there know?
Posted by: r.j.girl on January 2, 2004 09:49 PMMy name is Kakalina. Kakalina 0037 ;)
Julie!'s baaack! Yeah! Healthy New Year, girl! Hope you'll improve daily so we don't have to go weeks and weeks without your hilarious posts again!!! See, even my good wishes are made for a purely egoistical reason ;-). I'm so ashamed... not... because I guess all of us are looking forward to having you here among us on a regular basis once more!
Posted by: Niobe on January 3, 2004 01:47 AMThose photos in YIR are very, very beautiful. And this Julie woman is cool! Here's to heroic deeds!
Posted by: Bethanie on January 3, 2004 07:40 AMBy the way, I've been reading through this entire blog and I want to say a few things:
- Please, never turn his eyes blue again. My god, that was awful. Amazingly disconcerting. Bad, bad, bad.
-Dressage. I never even heard that term before! I nearly died laughing. Then I looked through the pictures and nearly died of mortification because I was *looking*! I never do that. I'm prim that way.
-Keanu as the anti-Christ. Okay, that was really funny. I have to say... I've just never heard of such a thing in my life. Good Lord!
-Krix... you really are a trip! You have really cracked me up, and I kind of need that lately.
Posted by: Bethanie on January 3, 2004 08:46 AMAptitude for helping people? Can't argue with that - those Hellblazer issues arrived today. Big thanks! Needle In The Groove will shoot straight out to you in February, when I've done moving.
But what's this? You're "likely to be abused by charming narcissists and charismatic manipulators"? Just when you got involved with Constantine, too! Be careful out there...
Posted by: James on January 3, 2004 09:36 AMThat's Keanu's horoscope, James. Not mine.
But I'm glad the issues got there. :)
And thanks Bethanie :)
Posted by: krix on January 3, 2004 10:29 AMAw... Thank you girls! I feel like a melted marshmellow inside now :-)
Oh, & Zenny! Thanx for looking up 'Julie!' :-)
And also for checking out: "that other name you used to go by"...
Hahaha, I didn't know that 'Miss Dutch pornstar 1998 - get your free wallpapers now' was translatable in Hawaian? ;-D *snork*
I tried out the link.
My name doesn't usually translate easily, but in Hawaiian it's Kapika.
Which leads me to ask...what does Kapika mean? :o)
