I just bought a bass.
Long story short, I played bass on one of Dave's songs tonight and really had fun.
Sam Ash has instant online credit.
And free shipping.
I'm gonna need some lessons.
off topic | from inside the mind of krix at January 02, 2004 12:43 AM .Maybe a certain bass thumper would be willing to help out? Congratulations! What a great way to start 2004, with a new creative project. Have fun!
Posted by: bakednudel on January 2, 2004 04:41 AMwoohoo!! the multitalented krix branches out yet again. you go girl...learning to play the bass is something i've wanted to do for years, but i've never had the cojones to really try it. once again, i live vicariously through my friends.
Posted by: lori on January 2, 2004 08:36 AMYou truly do rock, chick. That bass looks mighty cool! How long do you have to wait until it's in your hot little hands? You're gonna have f-u-n. If you've been playing guitar for a while, you already have the most important component of the game...the calluses on your left fingertips. Man, it kills until those come around, huh?
Posted by: r.j.girl on January 2, 2004 10:25 AMI think the neatest bass line I've ever heard is the one on Concrete Blonde's "Bloodletting" Album. The song is "Days and Days." It's 22 notes long, repeated over and over. I don't know squat about music but I'm getting the impression that the average bass line is a lot simpler than that.
How neat that you are doing something like this.
Posted by: Bethanie on January 2, 2004 11:20 AMhell yeah, you go girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
how are the fingers?
I'm way excited about this.I'm already pondering what I'm going to name it. (I'm thinking "Julian")
Hopefully shipping will only take a week or so.
I'm going to take some lessons from Cliff (my old guitar teacher) since his shop is about fifty yards from the office.
krix ?
der Name ist gut, ich werde es meinem nächsten Bild widmen, die Gitarre ( Bild ) als solches taufen.
the name is good for my next creativ picture.
Aaaaaaaah!
I got an acoustic one last year.
Welcome to da club!
Posted by: Keanuette on January 2, 2004 03:22 PMThat is great, Krix! I have wanted to play bass since I was 13. So happy for you. Rock on!!
